Concepts Under Exploration
Everything below is a future concept, not a plan of record and not the focus right now. These are open questions about how a purpose-driven network could one day recognize contribution and share resources. None of it is a live feature, and none of it involves a currency, a ledger, or anything to buy, hold, or trade. Nothing here asks you to contribute compute, energy, or money.
They are kept here because they explain the long-range thinking behind the products above. Expand any of them if you are curious.
From Money to Meaning Why contribution, recognition, and trust could count alongside wages
When AI automates most production, money alone cannot coordinate society. We need new ways to measure value, exchange effort, and recognize contribution. The question we are exploring: what would a framework look like in which contribution, recognition, and trust count alongside wages and titles? Standing would come from demonstrated impact and earned trust, not only from financial capital.

Why This Is Older Than Money
Humans evolved in small groups where status was earned one way: by providing value to the people around you. The same closeness that rewarded contribution also checked the people who didn't contribute, because everyone knew who did what. Recognition and accountability came from the same place, and that kept the group in balance.
Technology eroded that loop. It scales the reach of a person's actions while diluting their meaning and their consequences: you can now affect millions of people you will never meet, and be affected by them, with none of the feedback a small community provided.
The question behind these concepts is how to get that loop back without giving up scale: real human connection, real community, and recognition that means something because it comes from people who know your work.
Proof-of-Purpose (PoP) A way to record and recognize human contribution
The idea: every meaningful contribution—teaching, design, mentoring, organizing, creating, advocating—could be recorded as a verifiable attestation of participation. Over time these attestations would form a contribution record that reflects trust, expertise, and alignment with collective values.
- 1Contribute. Teach a course, mentor a student, design a tool, organize an event, create content, or advocate for a cause.
- 2Record. The contribution is logged with metadata: what, when, impact, and verification by peers or the community.
- 3Recognize. Recognition is non-transferable: it cannot be bought, sold, or delegated, because it represents what someone actually did.
- 4Influence. A demonstrated record could carry weight in proposing projects, participating in governance, and shaping the direction of a node.
Recognition alongside wages. Purpose alongside profit. A portable, verifiable record of impact that outlasts any single institution.
Proof-of-Energy (PoE) How compute and energy could be shared for collective good
In the AI age, compute is a form of capital and energy underwrites it. If both concentrate, power concentrates with them. Proof-of-Energy is the open question of how communities could pool computational and energy capacity for shared projects, and how that sharing could be recognized. It is an area of study, not a program. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to contribute.

Governance & Decision-Making Ideas for keeping power from concentrating as a network grows
- 📊 Contribution-weighted voting. Influence scales with demonstrated contribution and expertise, not wealth.
- ⚖️ Quadratic mechanisms. Vote costs scale nonlinearly, protecting against concentration of power by individuals or factions.
- 🔀 Forkable freedom. Any group can clone the framework and diverge if consensus fails, ensuring evolution without coercion.
- 🎭 Non-transferable recognition. Recognition that cannot be bought or sold keeps standing tied to what people actually did.
